Game Day Spinach Dip
Ingredients:
For Spinach Dip:
1 cup frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
1 cup sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 round bread loaf (for dip)
For Football Bread Bowls:
4 small round bread rolls
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional, for decoration)
Instructions:
Football Bread Bowls:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cut a thin slice off the top of each bread roll. Hollow out the center, leaving a thick shell to resemble a football.
Brush the outside of each bread bowl with melted butter. If desired, sprinkle poppy seeds over the top for a football texture.
Place the bread bowls on a baking sheet and bake for about 8-10 minutes or until they are lightly golden and crisp. Set aside.
Spinach Dip:
In a mixing bowl, combine thawed and drained chopped spinach, sour cream, mayonnaise, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Spoon the spinach dip into the hollowed football bread bowls.
Optionally, you can place the filled bread bowls back in the oven for a few minutes to warm the dip.
